Installing InQuanto

InQuanto and the associated extensions are distributed as a set of Python packages. For all enquiries about accessing the package and licensing, please contact the InQuanto team.

Most users will have access to InQuanto through Quantinuum Nexus. Once you have logged into the Nexus portal you can start up a JupyterHub environment by:

  • Clicking the “Lab” button on the navigation bar

  • Selecting “Launch New Environment”

  • Selecting “Start My Server”

Once the server has started, the Launcher gives you a number of different options. You can launch a notebook, Python console, or terminal instance etc. Note that InQuanto and a number of other dependencies are installed in the base Conda environment. However, any extra packages installed in this base environment manually by the user will not persist between sessions. To install other packages you will need to create a new environment via the terminal. Users can quickly find the tutorials from the InQuanto documentation by navigating to /example_notebooks/inquanto/inquanto-docs with the file explorer.

You can find instructions on how to install InQuanto locally under the “Documentation” heading on the Nexus dashboard.

Users without access via Nexus should get in touch with support for instructions on how to install InQuanto.

InQuanto has some system requirements to be aware of. We recommend installing InQuanto in a Python environment manager such as uv, Conda, Poetry, venv etc.

If you encounter any problems during installation, check out the troubleshooting guide before reaching out to support at inquanto-support@quantinuum.com. Otherwise, try the Quick-start guide.
