Quantinuum technical documentation
Build for the fault-tolerant era with Nexus
Guides, tutorials, and reference for how to develop, optimize, and deploy applications with the Quantinuum Nexus developer platform. Start from a task or go straight to a product.

Fault-tolerant programs from ordinary Guppy code
Write and check your algorithm as a normal Guppy program, then let Guppy FT encode it with quantum error correction codes such as the Steane code. The encoded program runs on Selene, through Nexus and on Quantinuum Helios.
from guppyft.code.steane.encode import SteaneBuilder
steane = SteaneBuilder().build(n_blocks=3)
encoded = steane.encode(program.compile())Tasks
Start from what you want to do
Each task names the tools it uses, so you learn the platform as you go. Guided workflows take you from prerequisites to verified results.
Write, emulate and run a program on Helios
Go from an empty file to verified results from Quantinuum Helios, emulating locally first.
- 1Write a Guppy program
- 2Emulate it locally with Selene
- 3Submit it to Helios through Nexus
- 4Verify the results
Make a program fault tolerant with Guppy FT
Encode an ordinary Guppy program with the Steane code and run it on emulated Helios hardware.
- 1Write the program without QEC
- 2Encode it with the Steane code
- 3Emulate the encoded program
- 4Run it on the Helios emulator
